The 7-3 Mars win over Phoenix was due largely to Jose Hunter. The Eyebiters second baseman was 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Eli Ricks, 3-3, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The win puts Mars at 63-94.

Mars used a clutch hit from Aaron Moore to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Eyebiters ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

Moore called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
