Robins Win, Allen goes 3-for-5
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Cleveland Spiders and St. Louis Robins get after it.
Good production from left fielder Jorge Allen helped the St. Louis Robins topple the Cleveland Spiders, 9-3. Allen went 3-5 with a home run and 2 triples. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3 for the Robins. Francisco Quinones picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 9. On the season, he is now 13-10.
Early in the game, Allen had a run-scoring triple for St. Louis. It was his 8th triple of the season and put the Robins on top, 2-1.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Allen said after the game.
The Spiders, now 51-106, have lost 7 straight.
