Penguins Lose to B's, 4-2
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Hollywood B's got the win.
The Hollywood B's bested the Florida Penguins by a score of 4-2, with first baseman Jesus Durango getting the main credit. On the day, Durango went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times for the B's. Jason Curling, the winning pitcher, improved to 12-10. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 3. Joe Pinches earned the save for Hollywood, his 37th of the year.
Durango had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 fastball from Shawn George, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the B's a 3-2 lead. It was the 14th home run of the year for Durango.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Hollywood manager Keith Grace.
With the victory, the B's upped their record to 87-70.
