Eyebiters Upend Sluggers, 4-2
|
The Mars Eyebiters racked up a win at Slugger Field, bumping off the Louisville Sluggers, 4-2. Kris Smith, who started for Mars, pitched effectively for his team. Jose De La Cerda notched his 10th save in 13 chances. The win makes Mars 74-84.
Mars relied on the bat of Mark Lee to get the win. The left fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Eyebiters ahead, 2-0. For the game, Lee had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
In postgame comments to the Mars Chronicle, Smith said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
