Perez Raps Hollywood for 5 Hits
Sergio Perez exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Devils Stadium.

The Detroit left fielder had a field day in the 10-3 triumph over the Hollywood B's, finishing 5-for-5.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Perez must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Sergio Perez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Marvin Williams in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off Johnny Brown in the 7th.

To date, Perez has collected 17 hits for a .370 average. He has posted 4 home runs, scored 9 runs and driven in 9 runs.
