Isotopes Take Down Hawks, 4-3
|
The Springfield Isotopes took Charlotte pitcher Arnie Henry's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Hawk Nest. The final score had Springfield getting past the Hawks, 4-3. Henry went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 6. Springfield currently is in 4th place in the Superior Conference Central Division at 67-94.
Springfield used the timely hitting of Beau Reid to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Isotopes on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Reid said.
