The Mars Eyebiters got a superb performance from pitcher Mike Slaughter. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Utah. The Utes won the game, 3-2. Slaughter threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The save went to Cesar Cordero, number 2 for him. The Eyebiters, now 5-13, continue their slow start.

Dylan MacGregor drove in one run for Utah. The 28-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jose De La Cerda. It was his 9th RBI of the season.

MacGregor said his team "played with focus."
