Big Day for Walker as Rabbits Down Robins, 6-1
|
Denver right fielder Chris Walker had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team down the St. Louis Robins, 6-1. Jerry Annett earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. The Robins fall to 7-12 and continue to sputter in the early going.
Mike Quintana, the 28-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Quintana contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Denver up, 1-0.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Quintana told the Denver Daily. "It's as simple as that."
