Portland Decepticons starter Andrew Clayton was on his game, helping his team beat the Los Angeles Shockers, 3-2. Clayton picked up the win for Portland, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-3. Portland goes to 7-11.
The Decepticons got a big at-bat from right fielder Tsugumichi Masuda. For the game, Masuda went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Portland a 2-0 lead.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Portland manager Sonic Russell said.
