Roger Blackwood never let the Utes get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Gamblers to a win, 5-1. Las Vegas goes to 15-6 with the win.

The Gamblers got a big at-bat from catcher Roberto Vargas. For the game, Vargas was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Las Vegas a 4-1 lead.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Las Vegas manager Ray Brooks.
