Dave Hollis impressed in the 6-2 Detroit win over Florida. Hollis, the first overall pick in the 2019 draft, was 4-5 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI. The Penguins drop to 10-11 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2024 season.

Detroit used a timely hit from Pepe Salas to get the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Devils ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

Hollis attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
