Jones Powers Shockers Offense
|
Both teams had their chances, but the Los Angeles Shockers eventually prevailed.
The Los Angeles Shockers downed the Texas Gunfighters, 7-6, at Ballpark of Texas. The Shockers were led by Ryan Jones. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Gerrit Garcia, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit. William Wright locked down his 7th save.
Jones had a timely hit for Los Angeles in the top of the eighth. With Texas trailing 5-3, he turned a 1-2 slider into a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 7-5, Los Angeles.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Jones.
The Gunfighters drop to 7-15 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2024 season.
