9 Straight Wins for Cobra
The Alaska Snow Sox got a sterling performance from pitcher Eliot Rippin, but the New York Cobra still prevailed, 6-4. Rippin threw 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball. New York reliever Dan Phillips picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Miguel Palomon was tagged with the loss. Tom Knight was called on to finish, recording his 8th save.

New York used a clutch hit from Gene Garcia to get the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Cobra ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I like our moxie," said Cobra manager Chad White.

The Cobra, now 17-7, have played inspired baseball.
