Devils Deal Rugrats 6-5 Defeat
|
The Detroit Devils defeated the Orlando Rugrats, 6-5. Doing his part was second baseman Eric Kelley, who was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Joe Perry got the win, improving to 4-1. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. The win puts Detroit at 18-14.
Detroit used the bat of Chris Murray to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Devils ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Murray told the Detroit Herald.
