Gunfighters Need Extra Frames to Get Past Utes
Texas starter Michael Henry pitched well against the Utah Utes at Popcorn Dome. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-3. The win belongs to Antonio Vidal in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Cesar Cordero took the loss for Utah. Kent Shoemaker earned the save, his 8th.

Rusty Hicks, the 22-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Hicks contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the tenth inning to put Texas up, 4-3.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Hicks told the Texas Times. "It's as simple as that."

The win has Texas at 13-22.
