The Toledo Mud Hens topped the Detroit Devils, 8-7, in Superior Conference action at Devils Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Toledo center fielder and Franklin, Indiana, native Cary Lee. The win was credited to Ryan Sargent in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Mike DeWitt took the loss. The win puts Toledo at 3-1.

Toledo needed the clutch hitting of Wes Morris to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mud Hens on top, 8-6. For the game, Morris had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
