Autobots Prevail, 6-4, Over Mars
|
The Phoenix Autobots defeated the Mars Eyebiters, 6-4, in Superior Conference action at Ballpark of Arizona. Phoenix pitcher Bernard Richter had a standout performance. Gabriel Romero earned the save for Phoenix, his 8th of the year. With the victory, the Autobots upped their record to 19-16.
The Autobots got a big at-bat from designated hitter Victor Torres. For the game, Torres went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Phoenix a 5-3 lead.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Torres said.
