Sluggers Suffer 12-2 Loss to Baltimore
Baltimore pitcher Blaine Shorts did his part in helping his team beat the Louisville Sluggers, 12-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Shorts, now 4-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The win elevated the Colts to 20-19.

Baltimore designated hitter Cale Black contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 43rd hit of the season and put the Colts ahead, 3-2.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Shorts.
