Late Magic Gets Florida 8-5 Win
|
Florida and Toronto duked it out and the Penguins came out victorious.
The Florida Penguins downed the Toronto Seagulls, 8-5, at Toronto Fields. The Penguins were led by Ricardo Gonzalez. He went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Jose Barron earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0.
Gonzalez had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-1 fastball from Miguel Flores, he banged a grand slam home run to right-center, giving the Penguins a 8-4 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Gonzalez.
"Enjoyed this one," Gonzalez told the Florida Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The win puts Florida at 3-1.
