Hawks Collect 4-2 Win Versus Las Vegas
The Charlotte Hawks stopped the Las Vegas Gamblers, 4-2, at Gambler Field. The Hawks got a big game from Justin Alexander, who went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Barrett Cordova, the winning pitcher, is now 5-0. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 8 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 2. The win elevated the Hawks to 23-17.

With Charlotte leading 2-0 in the top of the sixth, Alexander hit a 2-run single off Las Vegas hurler Gerald Baker. It was the 22nd hit of the season for Alexander and put his team ahead, 4-0.

After the game, Charlotte manager Bill Cat applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
