Mike Jones could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Phoenix Autobots lost, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Las Vegas Gamblers at Ballpark of Arizona. The loss has the Autobots at 3-2.

Las Vegas used the bat of Roberto Vargas to capture the win. The catcher jacked a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Gamblers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Vargas, "one at-bat at a time."
