Pennington, Knights Manhandle Gunfighters
The New York Knights used an offensive barrage to beat the Texas Gunfighters, 15-1, at Ballpark of Texas. Joel Pennington led the way, going 3-for-5 for New York. Gary Smith, the winner, goes to 1-4. He allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts over 9 innings. Their 18-24 record puts the Knights 4th in the Superior Conference Eastern Division.

The Knights got a big hit from shortstop Robert Zoffinger. In the top of the sixth, Zoffinger pounded a grand slam home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season put the Knights ahead, 14-0.

Texas manager Gregory Godwin called the blowout loss "just something that happens."
