The Toledo Mud Hens beat the Texas Gunfighters, 6-4, at Ballpark of Texas. Alvin Small, in particular, was impressive. He was 3-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Mark Cole got the win, improving to 3-4. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Earning his 14th save for Toledo was Jesus Palmeiro.

The Mud Hens got a big at-bat from right fielder Cary Lee. For the game, Lee went 1-5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 14th double of the season gave Toledo a 2-0 lead.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Lee said.

The win elevated the Mud Hens to 22-21.
