The St. Louis Robins beat the Alaska Snow Sox, 6-5, in part because of first baseman Vince Murphy. He went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. St. Louis reliever Mike Law picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bryan Phillips shouldered the loss. The loss has the Snow Sox at 3-2.

St. Louis used the timely hitting of R.J. Lauritzen to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Robins on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Nice win for us," said Murphy. "Now we'll go after the next one."
