With center fielder Jerry McDonald leading the charge, the Miami Stars defeated the Springfield Isotopes, 8-2, at Duff Field. McDonald, who is tied for 9th in the SC in extra base hits with 25, slugged 3 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring three times. The win elevated the Stars to 27-22.

With Miami leading 1-0 in the top of the second, McDonald hit a slider from Bob O'Reilly for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Stars ahead, 3-0.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said McDonald.
