Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Cleveland Spiders and Detroit Devils.

Manuel Olmos could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Detroit Devils lost, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Cleveland Spiders at Devils Stadium. The winner in relief was Kelala Taree. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 6 innings. He now owns a record of 3-1. Earning his 8th save of the year was David Lewis.

Jody Rasmussen, the 25-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Rasmussen contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Cleveland up, 1-0.

"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Cleveland manager Drew Marino said afterward.
