Herrera Excels, But Sluggers Win
The Louisville Sluggers withstood an impressive performance by Orlando center fielder Scott Herrera to defeat the Rugrats, 12-11, at Slugger Field. Herrera hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. The winner was Louisville reliever Andy Davis, now 1-0. The loser was Clay Seymour. Wayne Thompson earned the save for Louisville, his 1st of the year.

In the bottom of the sixth, Louisville designated hitter Troy Cole gave his team the lead. With one out and the bases loaded, Baby Bull hit his 5th triple of the year. Orlando pitcher Clay Seymour surrendered it. With that, the Sluggers jumped in front, 5-3.

"We got the victory," said Cole. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

With the win, Louisville pushed its record to 26-25.
