Stars Win, 4-3, at New York

The Miami Stars topped the New York Knights, 4-3, in Superior Conference action at New York Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Miami pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Brad Fernandez. Miami pitcher Ray Evans got the win. He's now 3-0. Charles Thomas was tagged with the loss. The Stars now have a mark of 24-28.
Miami used a timely hit from Tommy Gilmore to get the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Stars ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
After the game, Miami manager Ryne Solo Jr. applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
