Decepticons Win at Alaska, 4-2
|
The Portland Decepticons picked up a win at The Igloo, knocking off the Alaska Snow Sox, 4-2. Starting pitcher Mike Webb played a key role in the triumph. Webb, the winner, moves to 3-3. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 4 walks. Mark Hunter earned the save, his 7th, for the Decepticons.
Roberto Gomez, the 28-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Gomez contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third inning to put Portland up, 1-0.
"It was a good effort all around," said Gomez.
The 4th-place Decepticons are 23-30.
