Gamblers Upend Winds, 4-2
|
Ken Sanders made an impact in the 4-2 Las Vegas win over Chicago. Sanders, who is tied for 5th in the SC in triples with 4, went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. Joel Camels got the win, improving to 4-4. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Jack Shaw closed the game out for Las Vegas, earning his 2nd save.
Tim Tipton, the 29-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Tipton contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Las Vegas up, 4-2.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Tipton said.
The Superior Conference Western Division-leading Gamblers have a record of 32-23.
