Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Utah Utes and Phoenix Autobots.

Starting pitcher Juan Gutierrez was a major factor in the 3-1 Utah Utes triumph over the Phoenix Autobots. Gutierrez got the win, improving to 6-4. He allowed 2 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. Gutierrez allowed no runs.

The Utes got a big at-bat from right fielder Ben Jones. For the game, Jones went 1 for 5 with a home run. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Utah a 1-0 lead.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Gutierrez said.

Utah is now riding a 3-game win streak.
