Thomas Smith never let Bay Area get something going. The Portland left-hander commanded his changeup in pitching the Decepticons to a 4-0 win. Alan Everett earned the save, his 1st. At 24-31, the Decepticons claim 4th place in the Major Conference Western Division.

The Decepticons benefited from a costly error in the top of the fourth. With Joe Walker at bat and Portland leading 1-0, the Bay Area miscue allowed Portland to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Bay Area manager Nomad Garciajawa.
