The Mars Eyebiters picked up a win at Mars Field, taking down the New York Knights, 3-1. Starting pitcher Fred Leonard was a big reason why. Mars pitcher Evan Alfaro got the win. He's now 1-0. Drew Tobin was tagged with the loss. Anderson Thompson converted his 11th save in 13 tries.

Mars took a 3-1 lead on Craig Contreras's 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off New York pitcher Drew Tobin in the bottom of the seventh.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Contreras.

Mars is in last place in the Superior Conference Western Division with a record of 23-33.
