Stars Prevail, 4-2, Over Baltimore
|
The Miami Stars defeated the Baltimore Colts, 4-2, at Ballpark of Miami today. Leading the charge for Miami was left fielder Billy Bass. He was 2-3 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Miami reliever Sergio Zambrano picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Edward Hoover was saddled with the loss. The win gives Miami a season record of 33-28.
Bass had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-2 forkball from James Batts, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Stars a 4-2 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Bass.
After the game, Miami manager Ryne Solo Jr. applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
