Matthews Belts 5 Hits
It was high-fives all around for Stewart Matthews at Mars Field today.

He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Utah Utes. Matthews smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 14-3 win.

"Stewart was hitting everything," said Eyebiters manager Denny Romero. "It really was a special game for him."

In the opposing dugout, Utes manager Battle Trap told BNN beat writers that Matthews "ambushed" the club.

"Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Matthews oversleeps next time."

Stewart Matthews singled in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

Looking at his present stats, Matthews has compiled a .282 batting average in 59 games with a .307 on-base percentage, while hitting 6 home runs and driving in 28 runs.
