Hounddogs Lose to Penguins, 8-5
|
Hawaii designated hitter Brady Balmer was sensational. He was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Florida beat the Hounddogs, 8-5. Florida reliever Bob Williams got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Roland Woods was tagged with the loss. Jason Moore, credited with the save, is now 4 for 4 in save opportunities.
Glenn Chase went 2-3 with 2 singles for Florida. The 26-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Kieran Harper. It was his 15th RBI of the season.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Chase told the Florida Herald.
Florida occupies last place in the Major Conference Eastern Division at 28-36.
