Big 3-HR Day for Walker Monday, September 18th , 2023 Jimmy Walker of the Sluggers won the battle against Boston pitching, but lost the war. He hit three out of the park at Slugger Field, got his name in the league record book, but Louisville came up short in the win column, losing to the Beaneaters 8-4. The Louisville catcher was red-hot, the ball just exploded off his bat all day long. "I don't try to hit homers," he said. "I try to go out there and have good at-bats. If I put a good swing on the ball, then it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one. I just try to have good at-bats." For the game he went 3 for 5 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Where does he rank this day in his career? "It's up there," Walker said. "I'll put it up there in the upper echelon, despite the loss." Jimmy Walker hit a solo-shot off Larry Moody in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Larry Moody in the 7th, hit a solo-shot off Scot Johnson in the 9th and flied out in the 11th. This year Walker is hitting .293 with 30 home runs. |
