Harris Powers 3 HR Against West Michigan
Friday, April 26th , 2024
Kane County Mad Dogs right fielder Jesse Harris put on a dazzling display of power today at Ballpark of Kane County against the West Michigan Pimps. In the 4-3 Mad Dogs victory Harris penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," West Michigan manager Clarence Summers said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 22-year-old had 4 hits in 6 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Harris said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Jesse Harris hit a two-run home run off Henry Edwards in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Henry Edwards in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, singled in the 8th, struck out in the 10th and hit a solo-shot off Roy McClendon in the 13th.
This year Harris is batting .221 with 4 home runs.
