New York Gets 2-1 Win
|
Crowds lined up early in front of Ballpark of Philadelphia, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2026 Major Superior League season. On the mound was Carson Olsen for the visiting New York Cobra and Tom Weaver for the hometown Philadelphia Grays. In a spirited contest, the Cobra pulled out the win, defeating the Grays by the score of 2-1. Especially impressive was Tom Weaver. Carson Olsen, the winning pitcher, is now 1-0. He went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits, while fanning 7 and walking 2.
New York won the game in part because of Bryce Parkman. The first baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cobra ahead, 2-1. For the game, Parkman had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
"I'm just out there trying to have as much fun as I can while I'm playing," Parkman told the New York Today.
