The Bay Area Bandits topped the Texas Gunfighters, 5-2, in Major Conference action at Ballpark of Texas. The game was highlighted by the performance of Bay Area pitcher Anthony Henderson. Henderson, now 8-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. With the win over Texas, the Bandits improved to 34-36.
Bay Area used the hitting of Lonnie Turner to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bandits on top, 5-2. For the game, Turner had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We did a lot of things right," said Turner.
