The Charlotte Hawks locked up a win at Hawk Nest, knocking off the Springfield Isotopes, 10-2. On the mound for Charlotte was right-hander Malcolm Sherman. He played a major role in the triumph. Sherman, now 9-3, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Charlotte is now 43-29. Springfield is 36-38.

Juan Tapia, who finished 4th in the SC in RBI with 116 in 2023, came through for Charlotte with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. The right fielder went 2 for 5 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 runs batted in.
