Mars registered a win at ConDome by beating the Portland Decepticons, 6-4. Pitcher Kris Smith was one reason why the Eyebiters triumphed. Mars reliever Jeffrey Bancroft picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Craig Jenkins was saddled with the loss. The win has Mars at 27-47.

Gerardo Ramirez came through with a big-time hit for Mars. The center fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 6-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Kris looked very determined to have a good game," said Mars manager Kurt Rush. "He was totally focused and he produced."
