Spiders Rally Late to Clip Springfield
The Cleveland Spiders put one in the win column with an opening day 4-3 triumph over the Springfield Isotopes. The crowd at Cleveland Grounds watched Hunter Hunter put on a fine performance. Cleveland reliever Michael Bailey snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tony Torres shouldered the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Roman Mota in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 23-year old left-handed pitcher Tony Torres to win the game for Cleveland. The home crowd went nuts.

"Walking a team off at the end -- there's no greater feeling," said Mota.
