The Mars Eyebiters beat the Charlotte Hawks, 6-3. Mars pitcher and Calgary, Canada, native Neal Giraud led the way. The setback makes Charlotte 49-33.

Alejandro García had a big bases-clearing double for the Eyebiters in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Mars leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Malcolm Sherman, who leads the SC in wins with 10, and swatted a double to center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Eyebiters ahead, 5-1.

"Neal did a good job keeping the game under control," said Mars manager Kurt Rush.
