Springfield Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Flannery
Despite a great performance by Springfield left fielder Jimmy Flannery, the Toledo Mud Hens defeated the Isotopes by the score of 8-6 at Duff Field. Flannery hit 2 home runs. With the loss, Springfield falls to 3-6.

The Mud Hens benefited from a costly error in the top of the eighth. With Felipe Cortez at bat and Toledo leading 7-6, the Springfield miscue allowed Toledo to plate 1 and take the lead, 8-6.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Cortez, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
