The Mars Eyebiters got a sterling performance from pitcher Jake Price, but the Utah Utes still prevailed, 3-2. Price threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball. Utah leads the Superior Conference Western Division by 3½ games.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Utah shortstop Erik Clarke, facing Jeff Hayes, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Utes the 3-2 win.
