New York turned a good effort from starter Carson Olsen into a win over the Detroit Devils at Cobra Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Elmer Stephens got credit for the save for New York. It was his 5th of the year. New York goes to 7-3.

New York took a 1-0 lead on Anthony Wilcock's 6th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Wilcock hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Detroit pitcher Chet Ward visibly frustrated.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Wilcock.
