In a low-scoring contest, Bay Area pitcher Jose Noe was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-1 win. Ernest Stevens got the save, his 20th in 27 chances. The loss makes Los Angeles 60-39.

Cole Werner came through with a big-time hit for Bay Area. The right fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Some games build character," said Bay Area manager Nomad Garciajawa. "Like this one."
