Mendoza, Isotopes Too Much for Beaneaters
No one was more impactful than Ivan Mendoza in the 8-2 Springfield win over Boston. Mendoza went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Brad Hayes, the winner, improved to 1-1. He held the Beaneaters to 2 runs on 2 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 1. With the loss, Boston falls to 6-4.

With Springfield leading 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Mendoza hit a forkball from Wilfred Silva for a solo home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Isotopes ahead, 4-2.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Mendoza said. "We did a good job of that today."
