Louisville second baseman Ryan Jones was sensational. He was 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 doubles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 4 RBI. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. New York beat the Sluggers, 8-7. Luis Castrillon picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-6. Don Carr suffered the loss. Now 38-74, Louisville has lost 10 in a row.

The decisive blow was delivered by Michael Vaughn in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Don Carr to win the game for New York. The home crowd went nuts.

In postgame remarks, Vaughn said: "I'm proud of our guys, of their fight."
